Divine Discoveries in History and the Arts

A Spiritual Journey

After having studied and researched the great Renaissance Masters in Florence, Italy as Michelangelo, Leonardo Da Vinci, Botticelli, Raphael, and others, at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Villa Schifanoia/Rosary College, now Dominican College. While studying the great Renaissance Masters in Florence, Italy, I began making observations about the body in movement through the Paintings and Sculptures . I was immersed in the Art world, and in the company of Great Artists. I worked for Art Galleries and learned the business of the Art World through an art dealer buying and selling at the famous auction houses. It was a highly creative and stimulating time in my life, for this was my Passion, the Art and the History of the Lives of Artists. I moved to Manhattan New York, to have a career in the Art world, and returned to the Harkness House of Ballet to continue the dance. I was intuitively led to seek the dance of Isadora Duncan, although I had never seen it before, except in a film; I felt that it expressed the works of Art, that I had studied in Florence. After two years of searching, I found Theresa Duncan. She was a Musical Genius, who choreographed many works of her own, and was celebrated internationally as a Solo, Musical Dramatist. I discovered that the Masterpieces, that I had studied in Florence as Sandro Botticelli, La PrimaVera, Le Printemp. The Allegory of Spring was the same painting that Isadora Duncan created dances to while visiting Florence in 1905. Theresa chose me for her group called the Maria Theresa Heritage Group, as she said I understood the Art of the Isadorian Dance, because I had studied the great works of Art in Florence, Italy, and which were an integral part of the Dance of Isadora. I presented lectures revealing the inter-relation, and parallels between the Painters, Sculptures of the Renaissance, Greek and Roman and the Dance of Isadora . The Paintings and Sculptures came to life through the Classical music of Chopin, Beethoven, Bach, Liszt and others. It was Art coming to Life! I lectured, taught and performed, in France, New York, Florida, California, beginning with the United Nations in 1979, the Sorbonne University, Paris, 1984, Santa Barbara City College Abroad Program, The House of the Redeemer, New York City, Graymoor- Fransiscan Friary, Ancient Orchesis Study Group, Athens, Greece. Trianon Palace, Versailles- Film- Jerome Robbins Library, New York City.
